The Technical Higher Secondary School, Mallappally was established in the year 1997 as a pioneering institution for technical education in Pathanamthitta District in Kerala under the aegis of Institute of Human Resources Development, Thiruvanathapuram. The salient feature which characterizes the IHRD organization is its functions and performances as an integrated system of professional education and training for the technical advancement of the country through human resource development.

The school offers an integrated system of education from standard VIII-XII. The school admits students in the Secondary level in Standard VIII. At the Higher Secondary level students are admitted in Standard XI. It has an excellent atmosphere for imparting good technical education. The school has been able to achieve outstanding results both in the Secondary level and  Higher Secondary levels since its inception. It has also proved its excellence in the curricular and co curricular domain by securing championships in the Kalosavams, Science fairs and IT fairs. An active NSS is yet another hallmark of the school. The school is situated on the Mallappally Kozhencherry road and is very near to Mallappally Junction and bus stand. The nearest railway station is Tiruvalla which is 16 km from Mallappally.
